A Place of Encouragement, Direction,
Comfort, Security & Refreshment
- Lighthouse Ministries is a 501c3 nonprofit, non-denominational ministry that has
been serving the community for 21 years with free events that develop life skills and Christian values.
-
The events meet in various public buildings and do not promote any particular
church. It is non-denominational and nonprofit in nature.
-
At a typical Lighthouse event, there are two groups of various Christian musical
styles, such as gospel bluegrass, country, contemporary, hymns, or the fifty & sixties style.
-
Some musicians are local and some have come as far as Tennessee, Kentucky,
Minnesota, Ohio Virginia and Illinois. The musical performers have opportunity
during their musical set to share every day life experience, and how the Lord
has given them direction through his written word - the bible. They also challenge
the audience to know Jesus as their personal savior. Most performers work everyday
jobs and have families with children so they can relate very well with the audience
when it comes to real life encounters and trials.
-
At each Lighthouse, free Christian literature is given out with the hope it will
be used to enrich their faith in Christ. Average attendance indoors is between
200 and 300, with 600 attending the outdoor events at Regner Park in summer.
-
Lighthouse also puts on a concert at Cedar Lake Home Theater, geared to senior
citizens. At Lighthouse, one of the goals is to get participation of lay people
from other churches. Our staff at this time has more than forty people from ten
different church backgrounds. They screen all adults on staff involved and make
sure they have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
-
We also sponsor seminars that build life skills, i.e. financial, marriage and family seminars.
